  • Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, presented in collaboration by the Boston Annex Players and Boston Opera Collaborative, is a gripping chamber opera that blurs the line between the supernatural and psychological. When a young Governess arrives at the remote Bly estate to care for two children, she soon senses sinister forces at work—whether real or imagined—threatening their innocence. With its haunting score, taut structure, and air of ambiguity, the opera remains one of Britten’s most chilling and powerful works.
